Many shy away from demanding a better salary and benefits, but it is easy to correct that with your next job.
If you have finally been offered a job during this time of high unemployment, you may be tempted to forgo aggressive salary negotiations. But companies generally expect the newly-hired to initiate those conversations. Job seekers who don't negotiate for pay and other perks do themselves a disservice.
